Ashely Cargile, LPC-S

After graduating in 2005 from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, I worked in a variety of settings with families and children who were involved in the foster care and/or adoption systems.  I completed my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University in 2012 and began clinical practice working with college students, adolescents, children, and families.   I have training and practice experience in addressing specific mental health concerns using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-specific interventions, social skills training, and parenting training protocols.  The scope of my clinical practice ranges from helping parents address disruptive behaviors in their young children, teaching social and coping skills to children with impulsive/hyperactive behaviors, processing trauma with children and adolescents, to addressing needs resulting from anxiety and/or depression.

I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) as both a therapist and therapist-trainer.  PCIT is a specialized behavioral intervention treatment developed for disruptive behaviors in children between the ages of 2 and 7.   For more information about PCIT, please visit www.PCIT.org   Please inform the office when you call to make your first appointment that you want to schedule an initial PCIT consultation.
